Team Bushwacker
Team Bushwackers is a scenario game team based out of northern New Jersey. The team was originally formed by a group of volunteer fire fighters, (hence the team logo), in November of 2002, with the intention of playing as a team building exercise for their engine company. Because of this, Team Bushwackers utilizes a ranking system which is some what based on their ranks within the fire department. Since being formed, the team has grown to include members from Central New Jersey and Pennsylvania as well, bringing the teams roster to approximately twenty members.Although the team follows a ranking system and utilizes a "chain of command" playing style, there are no "quota's" for team members to meet, nor are there any team dues to pay. This helps provide a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure or demands on team members. Members are only required to wear the team's patches when they play. This is primarily for easy identification on the field. In the 2003 season, Team Bushwackers won three Most Valuable Team Awards, two Most Valuable Demolitions Awards, and one Most Valuable Engineer Award, while playing 3 out of the 4 scenario games at Skirmish U.S.A. in Jim Thorpe PA. Skirmish has to date been considered the team's home playing fields, and the team is currently preparing for the 2004 scenario season. Team Bushwackers play's approximately six times a year. That includes four scenario games and at least two "regular play" days. On one of the team's regular play trips in February 2003, members of Team Bushwackers met members from Team Splat out of Pennsylvania, and the two teams have been in contact ever since. Team Splats organizer, Brian Rephy, has since become a member of Team Bushwackers, and play's for the team at scenario's in the rank of Sergeant.
